How To Stop Being Scared (And Make Anxiety An Advantage)

How To Not Be Scared

It’s the million-dollar question: How to stop being scared?

It’s that nagging feeling you’re missing something, no matter what you do.

Even in the good times, you have a thorn in your side reminding you that it could all go down the drain in a split second. On your worst days, it’s sweaty hands, racing thoughts, and a churning stomach.

You might say something like…

“Fuck. Why am I so scared. What do I need to do to get rid of this feeling”

And yet, it’s not about escaping.

You don’t want to ride off into the sunset.

You want to redirect your voltage to a worthy cause. Not the soul-sucking, mind-numbing drudgery of fear.

You just haven’t found a way to make it happen.

I walked the same path as you, thousands of miles through the barren wasteland of anxiety.

I searched for years to find an antidote and tried just about everything.

I turned every stone and finally cracked the code.

I’ll tell you what works and what is bullshit.

Let’s start with the bullshit.

The Positive Thinking Hoax

I know.

You’ve been told that positive thinking eradicates anxiety, so you ponder positive outcomes day and night.

You wonder how much more positive thinking you need to do to reach those elusive stars in the sky. How many visualizations before you can stop being scared?

Well, guess what? This is not how you overcome fear. If you want proof, you can do a simple little exercise:

Imagine yourself at the beach, with a million dollars in the bank or in the woods in the midst of a blissful state of meditation. It doesn’t matter what you choose so long as it’s the most positive scenario imaginable for you. Take as much time as you need to bask in positivity.

When you are done, try doing something that is authentically frightening deep down to your core but has potential to make you richer, happier, and more fearless.

You can try asking an attractive stranger out on a date, cold-calling customers, asking for a promotion, or posting a YouTube video.

Did the positive thinking work? Are you no longer scared?

I didn’t think so…

Positive Thinking Is Not Your Magic Pill. Anybody Who Tells You This Is Lying To You

All the inspirational quotes and uplifting Instagram posts in the world will not overcome your anxiety.

Experts estimate the human mind has at least 50,000 thoughts per day.

Yikes, good look keeping track of all those!

Even if you could keep track of all of them, it still wouldn’t matter.

I’ll tell you why.

Your most limiting thoughts are the ones buried deep within.

These subconscious memories have likely festered for years and transformed into firmly held beliefs that are holding you down like metal chains on a prisoner.

Sure, you could change your subconscious beliefs with time. All you need to do is meditate for an hour a day for the next ten years or join a monastery and live in complete solitude.

Easy enough, right?

Let’s face it, though. Nobody has time for that shit. And you probably also want money and freedom to live on your own terms.

That’s why I’m going to show you a more practical approach.

The Critical First Step: Say YES to Drugs

Relax.

I’m not recommending you go out and buy some heroin tonight –this is about overcoming fear, not numbing yourself.

I’m talking about herbs and nootropics.

Herbal Elixirs (Anti-Venom for Anxiety)

Herbs are some of mother nature’s most magnificent creations and efficacious tools for mental health, motivation, and focus.

They have been used as medicine for thousands of years on every continent and were venerated by the Mayans, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, etc.

Nootropics (Steroids for Your Brain)

Nootropics are drugs designed to increase cognition.

They are the closest thing to NZT-48 (the magic drug from the movie Limitless) you will be able to find.

These drugs will blast your anxiety and fatigue out of the water, so you can get on with the business of not being scared and creating an amazing life.

The Art of Biohacking (How to Use Drugs for Maximum Benefit)

Bio-hacking is ultimately about making you a healthy, high-performing, focused, and relentless individual.

The most popular method of bio-hacking is cycling supplements (herbs, nootropics, peptides, and other ‘smart drugs’).

Cycling (taking supplements strategically with planned breaks) accomplishes a couple of key objectives:

  1. Each supplement remains effective, forever.
  2. You won’t develop any psychological dependence.

If you’re interested in learning more about bio-hacking, I highly recommend Tim Ferris’s book Tools of Titans.

But let’s get back to the purpose of this post: how to stop being afraid of life.

Your anxiety is a nuisance at best and is keeping you from reaching your highest potential.

I want to show you how to stop being scared with an easy-to-follow method.

This regimen will upgrade you to version 2.0 (meaning zero anxiety, elevated mood, and lightning-fast processing).

You will also feel more motivated and creative than ever before.

The Revolutionary Herb and Nootropic Stack

This supplement stack will morph your existence into Fearless Mode.

  • Kratom — a tropical tree in the coffee family, native to Southeast Asia where it has traditionally been used for its mood-enhancing and invigorating effects.
  • Phenibut — an anxiolytic compound that was developed in Russia and used by astronauts to keep calm and focused. Phenibut is one of the most popular nootropics on the market because of its ability to totally eliminate anxiety without impairing cognition.
  • Phenylpiracetam — 60x more powerful than piracetam, the original nootropic, this supplement will give you laser focus while elevating your mood.
  • Kava — a root from the south pacific islands of Tonga, Hawaii, the Samoas, Fiji, and Vanuatu. It has been used for centuries in ceremonies and for its tranquility-inducing properties.

That’s it.

This is the holy grail of anti-anxiety supplements that are GUARANTEED to work.

The secret to success with this stack is simple.

Rule 1: Take kratom a maximum of 4 days a week.

Rule 2: On kratom days, replace caffeine with phenylpiracetam.

Rule 3: Phenibut can be taken 2 days a week and works best when used in combination with caffeine.

Rule 4: Don’t take kratom and phenibut on the same day.

Rule 5: You can take a small amount of kava extract before bed for optimal rest and relaxation.

Rule 6: There is a maximum effective dose for each herb and nootropic. You will get diminishing returns after a certain amount, so keep your doses low.

Bonus: Natural Vitality Calm is a high absorption form of magnesium that is an excellent addition to bedtime kava extract for getting a great night’s sleep.

Step 2: Develop Your Miracle Morning

The way you start your day sets the tone for the rest of it.

Reaching for your smartphone immediately upon opening your eyes is a surefire way to spike your cortisol. This will put you in fight or flight mode, which is not conducive to eradicating anxiety. If you want to stop feeling scared, you need to start your day in a centered manner.

Avoid your phone, email, and social media for the first two hours of your day.

Instead, take 20 minutes to focus on the journaling exercise below.

All you need to do is answer these questions:

  • What are five things in your life you are most grateful for?
  • What is ONE thing you can do to move towards accomplishing your goals? Be honest with yourself and don’t avoid tasks that make you feel afraid or insecure. What you are most afraid of is often what you most need to do.
  • What is the ONE thing that is making you most anxious today? Are you exaggerating the negative impact by picturing the worst-case scenario? Are there small steps you could take to prevent a negative outcome?

The goal is to be consistent over time (don’t turn this into an essay).

Once you’ve finished your journaling exercise, you can focus on replenishing your body.

Step 3: Water Is A Natural Mood-Booster (Stay Optimally Hydrated To Feel Better)

Drinking plenty of water is one of the easiest things you can do to heighten your sense of well-being.

I drink a 16-ounce bottle of water immediately upon waking and then another one after my shit, shower, and shave routine.

Do the same and make it a point to drink four more bottles throughout the day — the more, the better.

Staying optimally hydrated means less anxiety, less brain fog, and more energy.

Some people don’t like drinking water.

If you’re like me, this boils down to two things. You don’t like the taste of water, and you don’t like needing to take a piss every ten minutes.

If the taste of water is not appealing to you, drink carbonated water instead. My brand of choice is Crystal Geyser.

Your body will eventually get used to consuming more water, resolving the pissing dilemma. Just wait it out for a while.

Step 4: There Is No Substitute For Rest (So Catch Plenty of ZZZs)

There is nothing more important for your mood than getting adequate rest.

Some people may be able to get by with minimal amounts of sleep, but you are not one of them. You need to make sleep a priority.

Avoid your phone for at least an hour before bed. There are two crucial reasons for this:

  1. The blue light emitted by your phone (and tablet, laptop, television, etc.) impairs your body’s ability to create melatonin, which is necessary for sleep.
  2. Browsing through ads, emails, and articles before bed will stop your mind from winding down. This will make it more difficult to get deep, restful sleep.

Instead of using your devices before bed, you can do a few things.

Option #1– Lay on an acupuncture mat (this will induce a state of extreme relaxation).

Option #2– Read fiction for 30 minutes to an hour. This will help you forget about the day’s worries.

Option #3- When you turn off your light, contemplate the five things you are most grateful for.

Doing one, two, or all of these will set you up to have some truly amazing slumber.

Step 5: Personal Baggage Must Die (Without This Step, Nothing Else Matters)

Your inner dialogue is likely infested with beliefs such as ‘I’m not good enough” and “I could never do that” or the ever-popular “she’s too good for me”.

This is all bullshit, no matter how true it might seem to you.

Life can be a cold, hard bitch. That is true.

But your personal baggage is not yours alone. You can be sure that countless others have faced similar challenges and overcome them.

You need to start purging your baggage, one day at a time.

This is obviously not easy to do, but I’ll show you how to get started.

It is a technology called InnerTalk.

This is how it works.

The sounds and stories in your earbuds will soothingly lead you into an altered state of mind (similar to hypnosis), while your conscious mind is absorbed by the first layer of messaging.

The real magic is in the second layer of messaging. The positive affirmations in this layer are able to slip past your defense mechanisms and seep into your subconscious as they are perceivable but not audible (your psyche will discern them even though you won’t hear them).

The MP3 is about 45 minutes long and should be listened to in a comfortable place, such as a bed or recliner. You will feel yourself drifting deeper and deeper into reverie until the program is over.

Creativity is Natural is my go-to MP3 because it focuses on removing limiting beliefs, in addition to the following benefits:

  1. It regenerates brainpower after a few hours of work (much like a nap would).
  2. You will notice the immediate impact of listening (less fear and more focus) even if the more profound effects take time.
  3. In contrast to other self-help programs and memberships, you only pay for it once ($26 with a 30-day money-back guarantee).
  4. It includes a forgiveness component, which will help you let go of resentments that no longer serve you.

My Suggestions:

Use it every day when your afternoon slump hits for a quick mental reboot.

Your subconscious plays a bigger role in your life than you think.

Step 6: Get Your Daily Pump (Turn Fear Into Action And Aggression)

You don’t need to be a bodybuilder.

The only thing that matters is pushing yourself physically so you can get your blood circulating and endorphins pumping into your brain.

The quickest and most effective way to do this is by using a HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) workout from Youtube.

They are typically 20 to 30 minutes long with short but frequent breaks between exercises.

If you can’t do the whole thing, just come back the next day and try again. You will get there eventually.

Once you start making progress, inspiration and vigor will come naturally.

This Is How You Become Fearless, One Day At A Time

How To Stop Being Scared

Information is useless without proper execution.

I didn’t write this post for shits and giggles.

I wrote it so you can know how to stop being scared and fulfill your mission.

Do you want extraordinary results? Then don’t take ordinary advice.

The esoteric ramblings of gurus and motivational speakers will not set you free.

Commit to implementing each of these daily anti-anxiety bio-hacks, and don’t leave out the most important part.

Expose yourself to scary situations every day. Test your limits daily. Rid yourself of subconscious self-deception and get adequate rest.

If you do, you will soon know what it feels like to not be scared of anything.
